Naomi Campbell and Jussie Smollett are a fierce pair while posing for the cover of Attitude magazine‘s September 2016 issue.
Here is what the Empire co-stars had to share with the mag:
Naomi on Jussie: “Jussie is an unbelievably talented, intelligent, kind and courageous human being and I have enjoyed working alongside him. He has incredible presence and energy. We also share very similar passions such as charity work, especially in raising awareness for HIV/Aids prevention.”
Naomi on how the gay community helped shape her career and life: “I have been surrounded by gay men my entire life, and because I have grown up working in the creative and fashion industries, many of them have become like family to me. I’ve always said without gay men, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
Jussie on how homosexuality has always been part of American culture: “This is American culture. The fact of the matter is, there was Little Richard and Sylvester but there was also Rock Hudson. This idea of homophobia, this idea of hiding, of not being able to truly be who you really are, well I hate to tell my nation, but we are American culture.”
Jussie on being out in Hollywood: “I get tired of the idea of someone telling me what my truth is. I’ve said from the beginning of my journey: I do not hide who I am. I love who I love. No one is going to tell me that somehow that is going to be my disability. I am told so many times that I should not walk truly in my blackness, that I should not walk truly in my sexuality, I should not walk truly in who I am. I say thanks but no thanks, fuck you and goodbye. I honestly think that me being myself has actually helped my career move forward.”

A 15-year-old boy (who has not been named) has been charged with murder after the death of a Nigerian teenager, Leoandro Osemeke who was stabbed at a house party in South London.
Leoandro, 16, who raps with the stage name, “Showkey”, died as a result of a stab wound to his chest. Hhe was found with multiple stab wounds on Friday, August 5th in Colgrove Road, Peckham, after neighbours reported public disturbance.
Speaking to London Evening Standard, Leoandro’s father, Emmanuel, said:
We are in mourning. We will all miss Leoandro deeply. He was highly talented and intelligent and loved by so many. There have been many people at our home paying their respects. We cannot understand why this has happened. My son was a wonderful boy and never in any trouble. He was heading for a career in music, he was a great writer and a true talent. He wanted to be remembered as a legend and he will be for us.
“He was an amazing son,” said Leoandro’s mother.
Leoandro’s tragic demise came one week after his 16th birthday and few days to he and his family’s trip to Nigeria for holiday.
Leoandro, the sixth teenager to be killed in London this year, had recently released a song in tribute to his friend Myron Yarde, 17, who was also stabbed nearby in April. The song was titled, “Is it really worth it”.
Fresh off the release of his debut album called “Gold”, YBNL artist Adekunle Gold is out with new photos. From his beautifully patterned and colourful shirts to his golden coloured robe, there are discernable elements of his African identity.
From his signature Adire to the map of Africa accessory on his neck, the identity of the singer is definitely unquestionable.

Betty Irabor, Chioma ‘Chigul’ Omeruah & Linda Ikeji talk about the Pressure Women face to get Married before 30
09:05Unknown
Genevieve Magazine reached out to publisher Betty Irabor, comedian/actress Chioma ‘Chigul’ Omeruah and celebrity blogger Linda Ikeji for their thoughts on the pressure women face to get married before the age of 30.
Here’s what they had to say:
Linda Ikeji: Marriage is not an achievement. There is so much more to life than being someone’s wife. Get married please, but don’t be pressured into it. I don’t know how many of you single girls are under pressure to get married but I am. Pressure from family, friends and people who just can’t mind their business. The pressure is so intense right now I feel like going to husband market – if there is any such thing- to buy myself some breathing space. Give me a break you people.
Chigul: In my opinion, the pressure is not a fabrication. It is very real! After you have worn asoebi about a million times, you begin to wonder when it is going to be your turn to sell asoebi too! And when you factor in mums and aunties constantly reminding you of the shelf life of women. It gets to you, even if it is just a bit. People may even suggest some very strange things to you to do to ‘earn’ marriage. Well, I have come to realise that we allow ourselves to be pressured. The decision to get married should not be taken because you are being pressured, that could lead to a disaster. Don’t let anyone make you go into anything you are not ready for or your joy may be shortlived. And to those mounting pressure on others to go and get married, there is simply no justification for your behaviour
Betty Irabor: I don’t think women should be worried about being married before 30 because many women before that age have not yet gone through the school of life which prepares them for marriage

We’ve all heard the jokes about snoring husbands and the long-suffering wives forced to share a bed with them and some got divorced too.
But if you (or your loved one) has sleep apnea, you know it’s no joke. And if you’re forced to use the dreaded CPAP? Even less funny.
What is sleep apnea?
The word ‘apnea’ is derived from the Greek for ‘want of breath’ and it describes a disorder which either reduces breathing capacity or stops breathing altogether while sleeping.
While ‘sleep apnea’ can be characterized by a range of seemingly harmless symptoms (like snoring), this simple phrase hides a sinister secret.
These cessations of breath can last for anything between 10-30 seconds and occur hundreds of times during a single sleep cycle.
They can lead to chronic fatigue, hypertension, heart disease, diabetes and mood and memory problems, among other things.
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a condition in which affected individuals have periods during their sleep when their breathing decreases or stops (apnea) due to collapse of the airway. These periods of decreased breathing result in decreased oxygen flow to vital tissues and organs in the body. As the body tries to compensate, there are often multiple awakenings throughout the night. This causes the characteristic excessive daytime sleepiness so often found in sleep apnea.
Who is affected by sleep apnea?
Most often sleep apnea affects obese individuals however it is important to recognize that anyone can be affected by sleep apnea. The major factor contributing to the development of sleep apnea is excessive soft tissue compressing the airway. This is often seen in the obese. However, other risk factors such as smoking, chronic nasal congestion, upper airway abnormalities (enlarged tonsils or adenoids), diabetes, and family history may also contribute to developing sleep apnea.
How do I know if I have sleep apnea?
A definitive diagnosis of sleep apnea is typically established by way of a sleep study known as polysomnography. During this test a neurologist or pulmonologist will have you spend the night in a “sleep lab” where they will monitor your activity during sleep. The purpose of this monitoring is to observe if and how many periods of apnea an individual experiences. Below is a list of symptoms that an individual with sleep apnea may notice:
◾Loud snoring and snorting sounds during sleep (often recognized more by the spouse or significant other rather than the affected individual him or herself)
◾Daytime sleepiness
◾Morning headaches upon awakening
◾Falling asleep at inappropriate times during the day
◾Not feeling rested after a full night’s sleep
◾Chest Pain
◾High blood pressure
What are the risks of sleep apnea?
Untreated sleep apnea can lead to a number of serious medical complications. In addition to increased risks of accidents and injuries due to excessive fatigue and the inability to concentrate, sleep apnea may also contribute to heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and sudden death. High blood pressure, heart failure, irregular heart rhythms, and pulmonary hypertension (elevated blood pressure in the lungs) can also be caused by sleep apnea.

The Amazon logo is already on e-readers, tablet computers, and the countless cardboard boxes on
America’s doorsteps. Now, though, the familiar, swooping arrow is about to show up somewhere new: Plastered on the side of a Boeing 767.
The e-commerce giant on Friday is set to show off the aircraft it has dubbed “Amazon One,” a plane that is among a fleet of 40 leased from two air-freight companies in an effort to improve a supply chain straining to keep pace with the retailer’s growing sales and its swelling ranks of Prime members.
“Creating an air transportation network is expanding our capacity to ensure great delivery speeds for our Prime members for years to come,” said Dave Clark, Amazon’s senior vice president of worldwide operations, in a statement.
The move to create its own fleet of planes is part of a broader blitz of investment by Amazon to shore up its delivery capabilities. It has begun experimenting with an Uber-like network of drivers that could deliver packages within local markets such as Baltimore, Miami and Milwaukee. Last year, the company unveiled an Amazon-branded fleet of 4,000 trucking trailers to shuttle its wares.
Amazon says its planes and trucking trailers are largely meant to help move goods from one Amazon warehouse to another, rather than to facilitate delivery of orders to customers. And, in that way, the company says its forays into the logistics arena are intended to complement the business it does with UPS and FedEx, not replace them.
Yet some analysts wonder if the buildup of planes, trucking power and drivers should be interpreted as something of a warning shot that Amazon has more ambitious plans to take greater control of the delivery process. While Amazon is a major customer of UPS and FedEx, those shipping giants have thus far shrugged off the idea that Amazon intends to bypass them. Even if it did, FedEx, for example, has said that no single customer accounts for more than 3 percent of its revenue.
Whatever Amazon’s long game is on logistics, it is clear that it is looking to make a splash with the inaugural flight of Amazon One. The company is flying the aircraft on Friday in the Seafair Air Show, an annual event near its headquarters in Seattle. The side of the plane is emblazoned with the words Prime Air, and its underside features the Amazon logo. The curved Amazon arrow appears on the tail. The plane’s tail number — N1997A — is a prime number, a gimmick the company says is meant as a nod to its Prime customers. Eleven of its leased planes have already been in the air ferrying goods, but this plane is the first to be splashed with Amazon branding. The rest of the fleet will be getting the logo treatment soon.
Even as Amazon ventures into new territory with its trucking and air fleets, it continues to make other more familiar investments in its logistics capabilities. The retailer has famously been plowing millions of dollars into building a network of fulfillment and sortation centers that enable its promise of two-day shipping on Prime orders. In this quarter alone, the company is set to open 18 fulfillment centers, or three times the number it opened in the same quarter in 2015. These retailer hopes these efforts will make it better prepared for the coming holiday season crush. Last year, fulfillment costs soared in that quarter as demand increased at its warehouses.

Music star 2Baba is currently in Milan as he works on a new unnamed project. The only hint we’ve had about his new project is a post on his social media page referring to “Mr. Senator”.
The music star just wrapped up recording “The Voice Nigeria” which ended on Sunday and he flew to Milan straight from South Africa.
